Fluoropolymer Coatings for Chemical Processing Equipment
Corrosion in chemical processing industries won't wait for a scheduled shutdown. It works on tanks, agitators, valves, and piping around the clock, and the damage shows up as unplanned downtime, failed inspections, or a full equipment replacement nobody budgeted for.
Delta Coatings & Linings has spent more than 50 years helping refineries, petrochemical plants, and specialty chemical manufacturers across the Gulf Coast get ahead of that damage before it reaches the shutdown stage. We apply baked-on fluoropolymer coatings, including PTFE, FEP, PFA, ETFE, Xylan, PVDF, and ECTFE/Halar, to chemical plant equipment that runs in constant contact with aggressive process chemicals. Each coating system is matched to the chemical exposure, temperature range, and mechanical wear your part experiences in service.
Where Coatings Fit Into Chemical Plant Maintenance
Chemical plant maintenance runs on a schedule that has almost no room for error. A tank that needs relining or a valve body that needs re-coating has to come back into service fast, and a vendor who cannot hit that window becomes a liability rather than a resource.
Delta operates as a 24/7 facility for exactly this reason. Our team works directly with maintenance managers and plant engineers to plan coating turnaround around outage windows, not the other way around. That includes inspecting substrate condition before coating, confirming the coating chemistry against your process media, and documenting the application so it holds up to your own QA review.
Chemical Plant Equipment We Coat
Tanks, reactor vessels, agitators, valve bodies, pump housings, and piping sections all pass through Delta's shop when a chemical processing facility needs a coating renewed or replaced.
We evaluate each part against its actual service conditions (including the acids, caustics, or solvents it contacts), the operating temperature, and the abrasion or flexing it sees in use, so the fluoropolymer system we select holds up under those specific conditions.
If a coating spec or certification requirement needs to be confirmed for your facility, we can work through it with your team before the job starts.
Get a Quote Before Your Next Outage
If corrosion, chemical exposure, or wear is shortening the service life of your equipment, talk to Delta before the next outage window closes. Request a quote or call to check current lead times, and we will walk you through the coating system that best fits your process.
Frequently Asked Questions About Corrosion In Chemical Processing Industries
What information should I have ready when I request a quote?
Have the part's material and dimensions on hand, along with the process chemical it will contact, the concentration, the operating temperature, and its current condition. If the part already carries a coating, note the coating type and whether it is intact or showing wear so we can plan for strip-back if that step is needed.
How do you decide which fluoropolymer system fits a specific process chemical?
We start with the chemical media the part will contact and the concentration and temperature it runs at, then factor in how much mechanical wear or flexing the surface sees over a normal cycle. If more than one coating system could work for your application, we will walk through the cost and turnaround trade-offs among the options, along with what each one means for the expected service life.
What should I do if a coating shows wear sooner than expected once it's back in service?
Contact us with the operating details, including the chemical exposure and any process changes since the part was last coated, so we can review whether the original coating spec still matches your current conditions.

Project EngineerExcellent Powder Coating Work! I had a rush job and Delta had my equipment Halar coated and back to me the next day. The finished product is beautiful and I have every belief the corrosion resistance will last a lifetime.
