PFA / Teflon Powder Coatings
Delta Coatings & Linings utilizes PFA Teflon® coatings for a wide range of applications and have years of experience being a PFA powder coatings applicator.
PFA Teflon® (perfluoroalkoxy alkanes) powder coatings are high-performing polymers that offer high-temperature chemical protection and industry-leading nonstick properties. PFA powder coatings are ideal for applications that require flexibility and reliability during continuous use at high temperatures.
The translucent coating offers a greater level of flexibility than PTFE and FEP coatings, with high performance guaranteed even in the most challenging environments. PFA powder coating provides excellent protection for hot chemical vapors or gases by acting as a permeation barrier.
Properties of PFA Teflon® Coatings
When you opt for a PFA Teflon® coating, you will be working with a more flexible material than FEP, which has excellent crack and stress resistance. PFA Teflon® is a durable product designed to perform well in complex and difficult environments.

PFA Powder Coating Benefits
The benefits of choosing PFA Teflon® include:
- Working temperature up to 400°F
- Transparent/clear
- Low dielectric constant, resulting in excellent insulating qualities
- Nonporous coating
- High level of chemical resistance
- Very low coefficient of friction
- Nonstick properties
- UV resistant
- Not hygroscopic (water absorption <0.01%)
- FDA approved
Industries That Use Teflon® Coatings
PFA Teflon® is available in two versions of a permeation-resistant coating: a liquid version, 8586-917, which can be applied to closed vessels with limited access to the internal surfaces, and a powder version, 532G-13054, suitable for most applications. It is typically used in chemical processing but is also commonly used in the production of molds, laundry dryers and copiers.
Below are some of the industries that benefit from PFA Teflon® Coatings:
- Chemical Processing: PFA Teflon® is used in a variety of applications such as heat exchange lining, piping, and parts of gas scrubbers, reactors, and containment vessels.
- Food Production and Catering Services: DELTA also applies DuPont's FDA version of PFA that complies with FDA regulations in 21CFR, which governs components of coating for direct food contact. These coatings offer excellent nonstick or release properties in high-temperature services.

For All Your Industrial Coating Applications
Delta Coatings & Linings' line of protective industrial metal coatings can solve many different types of applications.
Abrasion Resistance
Abrasion Resistance
Often, the first hint that something’s wrong with a process or application is an unusual noise. It could sound like a squeal, chatter or grinding, among other things, but it indicates parts are rubbing against each other. Left unaddressed can lead to poor performance or failure.
Baked-On Linings
Baked-On Linings
Baked-on linings create a protective coating for tanks, ducts, piping, and other devices. This coating is applied to a prepped surface and heated with care to ensure even temperature from floor to ceiling, which maximizes adhesion.
Chemical Resistance
Chemical Resistance
Chemical resistant coatings provide benefits to a range of industries including medical, food, rubber manufacturing and more. Chemical resistant coatings are essential to equipment such as tanks, pumps, and valves exposed to chemicals.
Corrosion Resistance
Corrosion Resistance
Anti-corrosion coatings can help deter material degradation brought on by oxidation, moisture, and chemical exposure, among others. They function as a barrier preventing contact between corrosive materials and chemical compounds.
Dry/Solid Film Lubricants
Dry/Solid Film Lubricants
Dry film lubricants (solid film lubricants) are designed to reduce friction between surfaces moving against each other. These coatings prevent galling and seizing while protecting in hot and cold environments.
Non-Stick Coatings
Non-Stick Coatings
Non-Stick industrial coatings are used in a wide range of industries. Some benefits that non-stick coating applications are minimized machine downtime and maximizes production with reduced coefficient of friction.
